National U-17 league: Start: April 2015
The National U-17 football league has been officially unveiled at FUFA House on Wednesday.
FUFA president, Moses Magogo launched the league before sports journalists during the Wednesday weekly press conference.
We have given priority to the 16 premier league teams to have a team in the youth league. If they are relegated, they will automatically cease to be in the league unless they have won the title.
The national Under 17 football league is expected to start in April 2015 after the club licensing and regulation exercises is completed.
“We shall give the Premier league clubs up to March 20th 2015 to show interest, if they fail, the FUFA big league teams have been given up to March 25th” FUFA Competitions guru, Ali Mwebe said.
South Africa, Nigeria, Morocco, Ivory Coast and Cameroon are the other Africa nations with a running national U-17 league.
