SC VU 2-1 Express F.C

Two second half strikes from Brian Ochwo were enough to get relegation threatened Sports Club Victoria University the much needed 3 points.

The mid-fielder cum striker netted in a pair of headers after the break that lifted Victoria University to 11th place and four points clear of the relegation zone.

“It feels great to score two goals” a delighted Ochwo told Kawowo Sports.

“It wasn’t an easy win but we kept working for it. Its a huge win for us” he said.

Victoria University dominated possession from the first whistle, created a few chances but couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net in the first forty five minutes as Express who had their first shot on goal after 15 minutes were doing enough to shut SCVU out.

After the interval, SCVU’s first attack ended in the back of the net off Ochwos header from a cross that Express’ defense and keeper failed to deal with.

However, the lead did no last as a few minutes later Isaac Serunkuma leveled for Express from close range after an erratic defending of a thrown-in.

Ochwo headed in the winner for SCVU three minutes after Express’ equalizer in similar style to the disappointment of Express F.C’s coach, Wasswa Bossa.

“It’s unfortunate that we have lost a game we needed to two cheap goals.” A disappointed Bossa said.

“We can defend crosses better and think we shouldn’t have given them those easy goals. The (goal) keeper should have dealt with those crosses” he added.
