Entebbe Club’s Willy Deus Kitata, scooped the Men’s group A prize at the flydubai sponsored Lady Captain’s Prize at the Uganda Golf Club on Saturday to redeem himself after failing to qualify for the national golf team this week.
Kitata, returned to the club house with a score of 75 nett to claim group A to end his week of mixed fortunes. “It feels good to come back and win here on this course,” Kitata stated. “I have had a mixed round of results this week and am happy to put those results away by winning here.”
The Entebbe based golfer together with his club-mate Peter Ssendaula failed to qualify for the national team that is preparing for the Africa Zone VI at the Uganda Golf Club.

The cocky golfer won himself a home theatre and one month’s membership to Sheraton Hotel’s Health Gym. Charity Opolot and Simon Rhee were the ladies and men’s overall winners with scores of 65, 64 nett respectively.
Veteran Gerald Kabuye, was the gross winner with 78 gross. The Uganda Golf Club lady captain Kathy Kabenge won the Ladies group A title with 73 nett.
Chinese Wei Jie and Diana Nabukenya won the ladies group B and C with 70 nett on count back and 74 nett respectively. Francis Kazinduki was the men’s group B winner with 70 nett.
Moses Matsiko was the men’s group C winner with 66 nett. Dan Muzaale was winner group D with 68 nett.
Deo Akope won the professionals category with 142 gross.
Close to 200 amateur golfers took part in this tournament that was sponsored by Main sponsor flydubai others include Uganda Breweries Limited, City Tyres, Unilever, Access Repro Graphics, Sheraton Hotel, Quality Chemicals, ICEA, Century Bottling Company, Samsung, Case Medical Services, Dr Kerali.
