Log leaders Vipers have missed an opportunity to widen lead at the summit after being held by visiting Soana FC to a 1-1 draw at Buikwe.

The hosts scored through skipper Joseph Mpande while ex-Maroons player Samuel Oguttu scored for the visitors.

Despite the draw, Vipers remain top with 45 points five ahead of second placed SC Villa whose fixture against Express was aborted due to crowd violence.

With SC Villa favourites to win the boardroom decision, the two points dropped by the 2010 champions may be see their lead cut to just two points.

Meanwhile, a point lifts Soana out of the relegation zone as they are now 13th despite having same number of points; 21 as the army side.

At Lugazi, Robert Ssentongo struck his 10th goal of the campaign to give URA a slim victory over army side Simba.

The win puts the tax men back in the top four with 31 points whilst Simba now drop to 14th on the log.

Elsewhere, SC Victoria University won their third game on the trot after edging Bul. FC 2-1 in Kakindu.

Hakim Magombe scored for the hosts who sit 6th on the 16 team log while Brian Ochwo was among the goals for the visitors.

SC Victoria University moves to 9th with 24 points.

Police FC came from a goal down to beat Bright Stars 2-1 at Kavumba Recreation Ground with Umar Kasumba scoring 10th of the season; the first in the second round while Peter Ssenyonjo netted the winner to leave Jimmy Lule’s goal as consolation.

Police go 5th with 30 points while Bright Stars drops to 7th with a point less.
