George Egaddu and Eva Magala walked tall at the end of the two day Hima Captain’s Prize golf tournament on Saturday at the par 72 Kitante course at the Uganda Golf Club.

Egaddu, who is a senior golfer and trustee at the Uganda Golf Club, returned to the club house with 142 nett on count back to claim the men’s overall crown after a round of 36 holes in the two day tournament that attracted 200 amateur golfers.

One time lady captain Magala, warmed up for her trip to play in the Sanlam South Africa Stroke Play championship next month by winning the ladies overall crown by returning with 145 nett.

The tournament was sponsored by Hima Cement who have been sponsoring this event for the last thirteen years and this year  sunk 60 million in this year’s edition with the professionals playing for 10 million.

Gerald Kabuye, was winner Group A with 142 nett. New Kid on the block and young brother to notable golfer Abbey Bagalana, Hussein Bagalana, won Group B with 145 nett.

Michael Mwine was the winner in Group C with 145 nett while Richard Rugambwa was winner Group D with 147 nett. Monica Ntege, continued her good form by claiming the Ladies Group A with 148 nett while Mary Zaramba was winner group B with 148 nett.

The guest winner was Entebbe Ladies Open winner Irene Nakalembe, with 144 nett. The professionals winner was Dennis Anguyo.
