KCC FC Vs SC Villa – Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo

Fireworks is expected at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo when record league champions SC Villa pay a courtesy visit to reigning champions KCC FC in the Uganda Premier League.

Either side head into the fixture head into the game low on confidence having failed to win in their previous two league games but the hosts have enjoyed good results in the Uganda Cup in that period winning 2-1 against URA and also dispatching Ndejje University with a 3-0 score line.

For the Jogoos, Ibrahim Kirya will be in search for his first victory as head coach since taking over from sacked Sam Ssimbwa.

SC Villa needed a late equalizer to salvage a point against 10-man Bul. FC at Nakivubo on Tuesday which makes this tie a must win for them if they are to keep pace with log leaders Viper SC.

Team News:

KCC will be without Tom Masiko after he suffered an injury in training and he adds to Ronnie Kisekka, Francis Olaki, Isaac Ntege and Savio Kabugo who are also ruled out of the game.
New recruit Baker Lukooya remains a doubt but skipper Sakka Mpiima returns to the side after missing six games so far.

For the blues, it’s a clean bill of health with no injury concerns.

What they Say?

Former SC Villa goalie, Yasin Mugabi has already sounded war drums to his former employers saying they are ready for the battle.

“We are aware of the importance of the fixture and all we need is maximum points off the Jogoos,” he said.

His former coach both at SC Villa and URA, Ibrahim Kirya is confident of beating KCC FC at their own ground.

“It’s not all about revenge but we need three points” Kirya stated in reference to the 1-0 loss inflicted on the Blues by KCC at Mityana in the first round. “We can’t afford any more slip ups,” he added.

KCC FC find themselves 3rd on the log with 37 points; four less than SC Villa who sit second and anything short of victory will leave their title hopes faded.
