HT: URA FC 1-0 Orlando Pirates (Agg: 2-2 )

Yasser Mugerwa’s 36th minute strike has given URA an advantage against South Africa’s football giants, Orlando Pirates in the CAF Confederations match being played at Namboole

URA started the game with a bit of gusto and had the first attempt on goal in the second minute when Pirates’ midfielder Issa Sarr miss kicked Simon Masaba’s cross towards his own net but was an easy catch for Brighton Mhlongo.

A few minutes later Seidu Kyeyune thumped a free kick into the wall of Orlando Pirates.

Orlando Pirates got their first real chance at goal when Mpho Makola headed Sifiso Myeni’s delicious cross over the bar.

After 19 minutes, Ibrahim Bwete was called to pull off a super save from Myeni’s cross range shot to keep URA in the game

Patrick Ochan should have put the guests ahead but he failed to convert Masaba’s delivery to his foot with acres of space. The striker has been wasteful in the first half.

URA continued to pile the pressure on the visitors and it finally paid off as Yasser Magerwa broke the deadlock on 36 minutes with strike past Mhlongo into the top right corner
