The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers (AFCON) have been conducted in Egypt’s capital Cairo.

Uganda Cranes have been drawn in Group D against 2013 finalists Burkina Faso, Botswana and the Comoros for the continent’s football ultimate showpiece that will take place in Gabon.

Uganda are second favourites in the group behind Burkina Faso and will be Uganda Cranes biggest huddle in their quest to return to the continent since 1978.

Uganda Cranes have fallen short at the final hurdle in the last three campaigns and the fans will be hoping it’s different this time. The Cranes have failed to got past Guinea, Zambia and Kenya in the last three qualifying campaigns for the final tournament.

The group winners and two best second placed teams join hosts, Gabon for the final tournament.

Meanwhile, neighbours Rwanda have been placed in a relatively fair group but you can not say the same for Kenya and Tanzania.

Rwanda have been grouped with Ghana, Mauritius and Mozambique. Kenya will be up against Zambia, Guinea and Congo. Tanzania do not have a chance (on paper) as they will face the continent’s football power houses Egypt and Nigeria as well as Chad.
