Phillip Kasozi, missed the cut as the Barclays Kenya Open golf championship as Uganda’s jinx continued with he shooting 4 over par 76 to in the second day of action at the Karen Country Club in Karen, Nairobi.

Kasozi had a double bogey and bogey on hole 2 and hole 6 which is a par 5 and par 4 respectively, but ended the first nine with a birdie on hole 9 which is a par 4. 

He then register to bogeys on hole 15 and 18 which are both par 5’s to eventually end his round with a total gross score of 148 gross. Deo Akope, Uganda’s other representative failed to recovering on time for the tournament after suffering a hip injury.

Kenya’s Dismas Indiza Anyonyi, Brian Njoroge and Matthew Omondi, made the cut with scores of 6 and 2 under par respectively going into the third day of action.

South African Haydn Porteous, leads the leaderboard with 13 under par 65 having sunk a total of 8 birdies in today’s round of action. 

This year’s prize money for the championship is €200,000 ( sh649m) with the winner receiving €32,000(sh103.7m).
