The champions for the 2014/15 Uganda Premier League campaign are known and so are the top four finishers.

Similarly, we are aware that Rwenshama and Entebbe FC will play in the FUFA Big League next season but who joins them? That’s the million dollar question that will be answered after the last round of fixtures on Tuesday.

Truth be told, all of the teams near the drop zone lack a bit of quality – they would not be down there otherwise.

With a game to go, what they need is character, effectiveness and the calmness but how many have all these qualities?

Simba, Lweza, Kira Young and Soana all fighting for their lives;

SC Victoria University beat Bright Stars on Friday to confirm safety as they reached 37 points but wins for Soana and Kira Young weren’t enough.

Going into the last game, this is how the quartet lies on the table;

As the table above reflects, all the four teams have a chance to survive but also can go down.

Despite a 2-1 victory over KCC FC at Kavumba, Soana exchanged position with Kira Young who humiliated Entebbe FC with a 7-0 defeat Bugonga on same day.

Kira moved to 13th on the table due to superior goal difference albeit in negatives six better than Soana but on similar points (31).

Who does each face in the last fixture and what result do they play/pray for?

Going into the final fixtures, Simba and Lweza need just a point to stay up while Soana and Kira Young need maximum points.

By earning a point, Simba and Lweza will increase their tally to 35 points an implication that Kira and Soana on 31 can’t dislodge them even if they earn victories.

What is so interesting is that Kira Young hosts Simba in the decisive game and so have destiny in their own hands.

Soana despite being in the relegation zone can survive with victory in the Kavumba derby if Kira Young doesn’t beat Simba while Steven Bogere’s side needs to match Soana’s result to stay up.

Fixtures:

Kira Young Vs Simba – Namboole

KCC FC Vs Lweza – Lugogo

Police Vs Soana – Kavumba Recreation Ground
