The race for the Uganda Premier League top scorer is one of intriguing contests left as the League winds up on Tuesday.

Police F.C’s Umar Kasumba and URA F.C’s Robert Sentongo are leading the pack – both tied on 14 goals with a game left to play.

Umar Kasumba, has given him self chance of taking the Golden Boot and can notably join the list of former Police F.C players to win the prestigious honor if he peeps URA’s Ssentongo on the goal tally.

Denis Obua (1977), Martin Muwanga (2005), Dan Walusimbi (2006), Bruno Olubo (2007) and Peter Ssenyonjo (2008) are the Cops to have won the Golden Boot.

Kasumba set the local league alight in the opening months of the season, with three goals in his first four appearances but the lanky forward’s bid was subject to a goal drought, a chance Robert Sentongo utilized to come with in touch and eventually caught up.

Kasumba’s rival for top scorer honours, Robert Sentongo earns the bulk of votes to take the prize probably because of the his experience in the local league.

Sentongo will bee attempting to win Golden Boot for the third time his career in local league having won in the 2011/12 season with URA F.C and earlier in 2004 with Simba F.C – a boot shared with URA’s David Kiwanuka that year.

Kasumba will be searching for final day goals against Soana at Kavumba Recreational Grounds while Ssentongo’s search will be at Wankulukuku against Express FC
