We look back at the recently concluded Uganda Premier League season with some key facts and figures
1: Number of losses suffered by champions Viper SC in the entire 2014/15 season. That was a 2-1 loss away to Rwenshama at Nakivubo in the second round. No team lost fewer games than the Buikwe side.
3: Number of coaches hired by SC Villa in the season. Steven Bogere was sacked after three games and replaced by Sam Ssimbwa who was in charge for 15 games before being sacked for Ibrahim Kirya.
3: Least number of victories earned by a team in the season – Entebbe FC
11: Most number of drawn games by a team. URA FC, SC Victoria University and Bright Stars.
15: Number of goals scored by the league’s golden boot winner – Robert Ssentongo (URA). On average, he scored a goal per two games.
17: Least number of goals conceded by a team – Vipers SC had the meanest defence.
20: Number of wins earned by champions Vipers more than any other side in the top tier division.
240: Number of games played in the season.
489: Number of goals scored in the league with SC Villa scoring the most (50) while Entebbe scored the least (12). Note: SC Villa’s goals include 9 goals from the boardroom. It implies an average of 2.04 goals per league game.
55: Rwenshama FC conceded the most of number of goals in the region. Four more than bottom placed Entebbe FC.
