Entebbe Club used to home advantage to claim the annual Helmet Golf Challenge beating Kilembe Mines Golf Club in a closely contested one day event at the par 71 Entebbe golf course on Saturday.

The hosts Entebbe Club finished the one day event which also had a Castle Lite May Mug tournament with 703 nett over Kilembe Mines Golf Club who a total average score of 733 nett.

Entebbe’s Robert Oluba scored 67 nett while Andrew Byaruhanga had 68 nett together with Andrew Kibaya with 69 other team-mates scores were Daniel Opwonya with 69, Martin Ochaya with 70, Herman “Deco” Mutebi, 71, Diana Nabukenya, 71, Marin Etienne 72, Paul Katuramu 73 and Anthony Katamba with 73.

Kilembe Mines team was led by Hassan Keyi with 69 nett followed by Michael Alunga with 71, Sulait Kisande 73, Habib Kisande with 73 while Chris Baguma and Peter Obita both had 73 each, Umar Keyi andd Francis Agaba scored 74 each while Dan Agaba and Happy Robert scored 75 and 78 respectively.

The tournament is held annually on a home and away basis with next year’s event going to be hosted by the Kilembe Mines Golf Club, in Kilembe, Kasese district.

At the same time Daniel Opwonya, was the overall winner of the Castle Lite May Mug tournament played on the same course returning with 69 nett and beating a total of 113 golfers.
