A visit to SC Villa’s training base at Villa Park paints a real picture of men on the mission.

In fact the determination coupled with hard work displayed by players can re-affirm that losing the league title to Vipers SC hit them hard.

But the Jogoos have buried the heartache and are looking forward.

To their coach, Ibrahim Kirya, the architect of SC Villa’s second place finish in the Uganda Premier League, the squad is working hard to be in good shape ahead the June 6 Uganda Cup final.

Kirya is optimist about the effect hard work can have on his charges as SC Villa’s season rests on Uganda Cup glory, a title they last won in 2009 under  Sulaiman Kato.

“We lost the league but there is still the Uganda Cup to save our season” said Kirya. “We have got the players and it is just about gelling together as a team. We’ve got potential to go all the way. We know we have to be in good shape” Kirya told Kawowo Sports.

Like SC Villa, finalists KCC F.C are also counting on Uganda Cup success in their bid to salvage the season and notably give a breather to out of favour coach Abdallah Mubiru.
