Nineteen (19) players have kick started the national senior team’s training session for the upcoming international engagements that will take place in the month of June.
With the exception of several U-23 players who actively played in the 2-0 return leg of the CAF U-23 championship qualifying victory over Rwanda, the team had only one player, Muzamiru Mutyaba of those who featured on Saturday.
The Uganda Cranes is preparing for three crucial fixtures; first with the international friendly game against Gambia on June 9th 2015.
The Cranes will again quickly return to action against Botswana on June 13th in the opening match of the AFCON 2017 qualifiers.
On before June 20th 2015, the locally based Cranes team will then travel to Zanzibar for the opening leg of the CHAN 2016 qualifier.
All the players are training as a whole group of course minus the KCC and SC Villa players, who are preparing for the Uganda Cup final. We have started with this pool and on Tuesday, those who played with the U-23 team will join as we await the foreign based players

South African based Geofrey Massa was one of the four forwards who trained with the team on Monday evening.
The others were Alex Bukenya Kitata of The Saints F.C and the URA duo of Frank Kalanda and Robert Ssentongo.
Other foreign based players have been Utility player, Denis Iguma (Lebanon), midfielder, Boban Zirintusa (South Africa with Polokwane F.C) and Brian Majwega, who turns out for Azam F.C in the Tanzanian league.
Training for Tuesday will see the addition of the other U-23 team players and Alex Kakuba, from Portugal who watched the Monday session from the sidelines.
Micho believes the team will enter a residential camp by the weekend.
Tuesday training commences at 10 a.m at Uganda Prisons stadium, Luzira.
