UCU Canons Vs StarTimes Falcons 8:30pm, YMCA

StarTimes Falcons got off a 6-0 start to the season before falling to Our Saviour 75-53 a week ago. Assistant coach, Tony Oluka said it was complacency that cost his team the game.

“The thing that really cost us that game is complacency. No belief in fellow teammates.” “We didn’t lose that game, we just gave it away. We didn’t come for this game” Oluka stressed.

To Oluka, Falcons did not share the ball well enough and that individualism was coming into the team.

“In the beginning this team believed in each other but it’s going into an individual game – something we really need to address” Oluka told Kawowo Sports after Falcons’ first loss of the season.

The loss was a big wake up call for call Falcons and Oluka said they will look much different in their next game.

“It’s a big reality check for us. If you watch our next game, you will see team work coming back because they (players) know it right now that they need to play as a team” Oluka said.

Falcons ‘next’ game is on tonight at YMCA. The six time league champions face UCU Canons – a side that came from down and eliminated them from last year’s playoffs at the first round.

The Canons (5-1) have won four games on the trot since losing to City Oilers in April and beaten Our Saviour in the run.
