Details of Nile Breweries Deal to FUFA:

  • Cash to National Team & Promotional Tours: Ug Shs 2.2 Billion

Beer company, Nile Breweries Limited under the Nile Special brand have extended their ‘marriage’ with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations by four years with another deal worth Ugx 4 billion.

This is after the previous deal (worth Ug Shs 1.2 Billion for three years) was due to expire in October 2015.

In the new deal, 1.8 Billion will go direct to the FUFA account for the national team activities; 2.2 billion is an additional package to promote the national team through media and countrywide tours for over the four years.

Nile Breweries Limited marketing Director Daniel Ogong remarked as he also handed over Ug. Shs  54M as the Cranes welfare.

This amount was collected from the promotion organized last year code named ‘Cranes Na-Mutima’.

The package takes the form of cash, communication during the national team engagements and the Nile Special Cranes Na Mutima tours.

FUFA was represented by Vice President Justus Mugisha, CEO Edgar Watson, Coaches Micho and Moses Basena and one player, Richard Kasagga.

FUFA appreciated the new offer;

Watson, a former Cranes player, but now serving as the federation Chief Executive Officer said.
