Gideon Kagyenzi after putting on hole 17
For day two 2015 Uganda Open joint leader, Gideon Kagyenzi, 49, he is one of those lucky players on the course to be caddied by his biological son, Robert Mugabe Kagyenzi.
Kagyenzi senior, the green keeper of the Par 72 Uganda Golf Club course notes;
I am happy that my very son is caddying for me at the Uganda Open. He has helped me a lot throughout the practice rounds to date
Kagyenzi Junior, 19, is the last born in the family of four.
I started to caddy this year in March and this is my second tournament to work with my father. The scores so far not bad and we shall have to hold off the pressure in the pressure group for the remaining two days.
Mugabe dreams of being a golfer like his father;
I want to start playing golf like my father and become a professional one day
One of Mugabe’s prime duties on the course, just like the rest of his caddies at the Open has been to engage his player on how to play the balls vis-a-vis the course topography, wind effect position of pin among the other factors.
The gallery will keep a close eye on how the caddy son guides his father to a historic victory.
