Uganda’s new golf sensation Ronald Otile,won a double at the 73 and 10th Uganda Open enroute to claiming the Amateurs Open and also being the best amateur in the professional category last weekend at the Uganda Golf Club.
The golfer fraternity has start raising money for the budding young golfer, for his education and golf after making history at the Uganda Open after winning the amateur’s Open and the Professional category.
Stanbic Bank set the ball rolling for the Toro Club golfer by opening up a saving account for him, but he got a head start when Professor Anthony Kerali, the treasurer of the Uganda Golf Club and Chairman Kerussi International donated 24 million for him to help him as a golfer and also in his education as golf authorities seek for him to play at a top Golf academy in South Africa or the United States Of America.
NTV, who are his personal sponsors have donated 7 million to him while Africell will this week give him the latest phone they will be launching.
Otile will know put focus on his game more together with his national team-mates as Uganda seeks to defend the East African Golf Challenge in Kigali, Rwanda later this month and also play for the Uganda in the All Africa Golf Championships in Limuru, Kenya in October.
