The Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) has on Monday voted 2015 world athletics championship bronze marathon winner, Solomon Munyo Mutai as the Nile Special best sports personality for the month of August 2015.

He clocked 2:10:42 hours to finish third in the world championship marathon held in Beijing, China.

Mutai beat the Uganda netball she cranes team by a difference of 55 votes in a two man race during the association’s monthly convention at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.

The fact that Mutai was the only athlete that won a medal for Uganda at the world championships in Beijing, he needs recognition and motivation. The monthly meeting was presided over by the Association president, Sabiti Muwanga.

Muwanga used the platform to thank the members who participated in the recently concluded USPA road safety campaign.

I appreciate everyone’s effort in the successful USPA road safety activities that we concluded the previous week. Keep up the spirit as we continue to serve the sports fraternity and the national at large
