The Uganda Golf Union has summoned 20 golf players for national qualifiers ahead of the 17th edition of the East African Golf Challenge due next month from 17-21 November at the Kigali Golf Club in Rwanda.

The 20 players reported to camp in Entebbe and they include Entebbe’s Martin Ochaya, Patrick Mwaka, Henry Lujja, Robert Oluba, Kato Owen, Andrew Byaruhanga, Herman Mutebi, others on the team include captain Adolf Muhumuza, Lawrence Muhenda, Ronald Otile, Richard Baguma, Daniel Baguma, Ronald Rugumayo, Joseph Okada Cwinyai, Happy Robert, Jinja’s Ismail Mahmoud, Titus Okwong, Hassan Kiyemba, Ronald Bukenya, Abraham Ainamanyi.

The national selectors will trip the team to 8 players after they go through a gruelling round of training that will see play singles, foursomes and Four Ball, Better Ball to select the teams to play in pairs.

Uganda are the defending champions and will be seeking back to back titles with Amos Kamya, coach the team while Oscar Semawere is the national team manager.

The team will play the Rwanda Open before embarking on defending the East African Challenge Trophy.
