38th CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup:

Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin Sredojevic will name the final team of 20 players traveling to Ethiopia for the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup on Friday morning.

The team of 25 players entered residential camp on Thursday at the African Bible University in Lubowa after the just the second day of training.

There is only one training session left for Friday morning before the final team is named for traveling later in the evening for Addis Ababa.

Currently, there are four goal keepers, ten defenders, six midfielders and five strikers.

Twenty players will make the final team for the two week tournament.

Micho expects the team to be named on merit and based on performance in training;

It takes the best performers to make the traveling team. The team will be chosen purely on merit.

Uganda is in Group B alongside Kenya, Burundi and Zanzibar.

Uganda opens with first match on Sunday 22nd November, 2015 against arch rivals Kenya in Addis Ababa

The second game for Uganda comes on Tuesday, 24th November 2015 in Awassa City against Zanzibar before the last group game on Saturday, 28th November when they play against Burundi, still in Awassa.

The 2014 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup didn’t take place after none of the 12 member countries expressed interest in hosting the tournament on short notice.

Uganda is the record winner with 13 titles followed by reigning champions Kenya with six.
