2015 Ummah Disable Marathon: 20th December 2015

The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council in conjunction with the organizers of the Ummah Society Business Expo and Ndejje Youth club have organized the first ever marathon  for the disabled group in Kampala.

The Ummah Disabled Marathon was launched at the Gadaffi Mosque, Old Kampala on Wednesday, 25th November 2015 by His Eminence, the mufti of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, Hajji Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje.

Hajji Yusuf Kasajja, a key pillar in the entire organization initiated the project purposely to focus at developing the community and erase the black clots attached to muslims in many cases.

The muslim community in Uganda has been challenged with differences. The expo itself, the marathon have been designed on a non segregative mode with targets of improving life status and business boosting.

To this end, the Ummah Disabled Marathon has been incorporated in the entire programme with the aim of starting a foundation to build a school, hospital and mosque for the disabled.

The theme for the marathon is ‘Disabillity is not inability’. Besides the marathon, the disabled will have other activities say; sitting volleyball, badminton, sit ball among others.
