Female rally driver Leila Blick Mayanja has heaped praise on competitors that turned out for her fundraising event at Nabugabo Sand Beach on Sunday.

Mayanja is eyeing a Mitsubishi Evo 9 for the 2016 season and believes the event pushed her a mile ahead in acquiring the car.

The event has set the ball rolling to the participation of the ‘Blick Bullet’- Evo9 in next year’s season.

Ronald Sebuguzi (Mitsubishi EvoX) posted the fastest times to finish 20 seconds ahead of Susan Muwonge (Subaru N12).

Edson Mugyereza and Jaffer Kamya finished third and fourth respectively.

The event also had 35 Motocross riders who entertained the fans.

Leila Mayanja further expressed her gratitude to the drivers who participated.

I would like to thank everyone for the enormous support i received, especially those who move all the way to Nabugabo. Some people could not make it to Nabugabo but kept sending in the support.

Mayanja started racing in 2008 in a Mitsubishi Evo 4 in which she registered a podium finish on her debut.

In 2013 she upgraded to a Mitsubishi Evo 5 before she jumped into a 2WD car-Toyota Allex after failing to finish any rally with the Evo.

She won the 2014 2WD title with the Toyota Allex before it developed mechanical issues that forced her out of competition this year.
