Malindi International Beach Soccer Tournament:

Seven new faces have been named on the Uganda national Beach Soccer team, ‘Sand Cranes’ ahead of the Malindi International tournament at the coastal sandy confines off the Indian ocean.
A contingent of 17 people comprising of 4 Officials, 3 referees and 10 players departed from FUFA House on Wednesday evening by road.
Only Roch Somoka, Dennis Sserukwaya and John Revita who will skipper the team are the only old faces on the new look side.
Others are; Simon Kansiime ( St Lawrence ), Muzafaru Tamale (Real Galacticals ), Abdul Karim Kibalama (Real Galacticals ), Jojo Mutebi (Buwanika Bulls), Rica Byaruhanga (Buwanika Bulls), Dennis Serukwaya (Real Galacticals ), Hamis Kafeero (Real Glacticals ) and Herbert Luboyera (Mutesa I Royal University).
Usual suspects, Brian Nkuubi, Baker Lukooya, and the reigning Airtel-FUFA Beach Soccer Player of the Year, Douglas Muganga have all stayed back to play in the Inter-University games that kick-off on Thursday at Busoga University.
The team was flagged off at FUFA House on Wednesday evening by the FUFA Vice president, Justus Mugisha.
The Malindi International starts on Friday 18th and ends on Sunday 20th December 2015.
Five teams are expected to take part and these include Uganda, Kenya, Zanzibar, Tanzania and favorites Ghana as the guest team.
The team coach, Salim Muwonge said that even though they haven’t got enough time to prepare like other teams but believes in his team and expects to win the trophy .
