SC Victoria University Vs Police FC – Mandela National stadium, Namboole @ 4.30pm
Ever since their promotion to the top division, SC Victoria University has never lost a league tie against Police FC.
That will be the jinx The Cops will seek to end on Friday afternoon when they pay a courtesy visit to Namboole.
Last season, SC Victoria University won both games home and away including a 3-1 victory in the corresponding fixture with Muzamiru Mutyaba netting a double whilst Dan Nsubuga added the other. Ben Ocen scored the visitors’ consolation on the day.
A season before, they drew 1-1 at Namboole before the University side won 3-2 at Kavumba while in their maiden season in top division, all games ended square.
Nevertheless, Police FC Coach Sam Timbe isn’t bothered with the history. “It doesn’t me at all. In football, you are as good as your current game,” he said.
The Cops are third on the log and maximum points may lift them above second placed Vipers in case of a two goal margin win.
The 2005 league winners drew their previous outing 1-1 with Police FC while SC Victoria University lost 1-0 to KCCA.
Hussein Kheri’s side sits just a slot above relegation zone in 13th with 13 points.
