Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi has eliminated Nkumba University in the on-going Inter-University games football event after a hard fought 4-3 victory in post match penalties on Sunday morning at Busoga University in Iganga district.

Normal time for the two sides had ended goal-less after 90 minutes before the tense penalty shoot out determined the winner of the match played at Iganga Technical school.

In the other semi-finals held at on a wet Bishop Willis play ground, Ndejje University goalie, Hannington Ssebwalunyo was the hero of the day, saving and scoring a penalty to see his team win 5-4 over Kampala International University.

Still normal time for the two universities had ended score-less even though Ndejje dominated the match played on a slippery ground that followed the early morning rains.

FIFA referee, Anna Akoyi expertly handed the pressure game which had SC Villa striker, Fahad Muhammed Tokko feature for Kampala International University.

Kyambogo University won 2-0 over Mbarara’s Bishop Stuart University, and will now face Mbale’s Islamic University in Uganda after the latter won 1-0 over the Mountain of the Moon University.

Semi-finals:

Uganda Martyrs University will take on defending Ndejje University in the semi-finals as Kyambogo University battles IUIU in the other game.

The finals will be played on Monday at 11 a.m.
