The first round of the 2015/2016 Uganda Premier League season comes to an end on Tuesday 29th December with various games played at different play grounds.

13th placed SCVU takes on bottom side Maroons FC in a relegation battle at Namboole Stadium.

Haruna Mawa’s side that has lost three of their last four games will be without Yusuf Jjuuko who is out suspended due to card accumulation and Hamza Dezzu currently off for studies at Oxford University in UK.

The home team after playing only the abandoned 45 minutes of the game against JMC on Boxing Day is obviously expected to topple the physical part of the game but will require utmost precision if they are to put the ball at the back of the net against a team that has gone 270 minutes without conceding a goal.

Maroons’ defence marshaled by captain Slyvester Okello has beyond doubt proved to be impenetrable.

This is something the University side has to find solutions to if they are to get back to winning ways.

The visitors come into this encounter on the back of three successive barren draws including the one against the 2006 league Champions URA who had prior to that draw scored in each of their games bar Express at Wankulukuku.

Much as they have been solid at the back, the prisons side has equally had issues finding the back of the net.

The 2014/15 Big League champions not only need to concentrate on their defensive duties but also work on their lethalness if they are to end the quest for their only 2nd league victory of the season.

They will however miss the services of first choice right back Godwin Kitagenda who’s out injured with a sprained ankle. The team welcomes back midfielder Yahya Luuti and Raphael Winju from injuries.

The duo will no doubt strengthen Asaph’s Arsenal and add more options to the team.

SCVU lie 13th, just a point above the drop zone with 14 points whereas Maroons are placed bottom of the table with 8 points .
