CHAN 2016: Rwanda (16th January – 6th February 2016)

The long awaited training for the Uganda Cranes team ahead of the 2016 CHAN finals started on 2nd January 2016 at the African Bible University play ground in Lubowa.

Of the players who had been summoned for training, 25 attended with a guest player, Robert Kakeeto (Ugandan based in Denmark)

Only one goal keeper, James Alitho attended with the other called player, Police F.C’s Douglas Kisembo watching the three hour training session on the sidelines because he is on medication after a bout of typhoid.

Tony Odour (Express F.C) requested to skip training session but there were no news about Andrew Basooma (Sadolin Paints), Mike Ndera (BUL) and Ibrahim Ayub Kizza (Express).

Ndera is reportedly said to be recovering from an earlier knock that injured his ankle.

Perhaps, the session progressed with various drills for the players who attended.

Head coach, Milutin Sredojevic was left satisfied with the level of commitment portrayed by the players.

There are still signs of recovery from the long season but i am impressed by the level of commitment from the players.

The head coach rested a bulk of the players who were with the team in the 2015 CECAFA senior challenge cup defence.
