After more than six months without a club, Ugandan international Hassan Biruma Wasswa has signed for former Iraq champions Al Shorta SC.
The ex-KCCA and SC Villa defender cum defensive midfielder is believed to have a signed a two year deal at the club on January 18, 2016.
Wasswa; who last featured for SC Villa in the 2014/15 campaign helping them win the Uganda Cup and finishing second in the league returns to paid ranks for the first time since leaving Turkey’s Kayseri in 2012.
Al Shorta SC are five times Iraq Premier League winners with the latest trophy coming in the 2012/13 season but could only end the last campaign in third position.
Meanwhile, Wasswa is the only foreigner in their squad for the ongoing 2015/16 season and the club sits 7th on the Group 2 ten 10 team log with 14 points after 11 games played.
