CHAN 2016: Group D

Wednesday, January 27

  • Uganda vs. Zimbabwe – Umuganda Stadium, Rubavu (5:00 p.m)
  • Zambia vs. Mali – Kigali Regional stadium, Nyamirambo (5:00 p.m)

Uganda Cranes captain at the 4th Edition of African Nations Championship (CHAN), Farouk Miya has hinted on the need for the right attitude as an important pillar towards winning football fixtures.

Miya, who has been recently signed by Belgian giants Standard Liege F.C on a six month loan deal was addressing the media on Monday afternoon during a press conference held at the Umuganda stadium in Rubavu.

Having missed the Cranes’ second Group D fixture against Zambia following a disjointed arm, Miya has since made a remarkable recovery.

He stated;

The right attitude wins football games. I am not different from the rest of my teammates. We are a unit in camp and we shall work as a group. We played well against Zambia. I was in the stands and I still believe in the squad. Let’s see what we offer on Wednesday against Zimbabwe as we wait for the results from the Zambia against Mali.

At the same press conference, head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic echoed the level of readiness from his charges.
