Nigerian medical team is in a desperate rush against time to assess the fitness levels of two influential players ahead of the match against Guinea.

Abia Warriors forward, Elvis Chisom Chikatara and Tabara F.C midfielder, Usman Muhammed picked up different injuries in the 1 all draw against Tunisia. The duo remains huge doubts against Guinea in a do or die encounter that shall be played on Tuesday.

“They are subject to late fitness tests” Nigerian coach, Sunday Oliseh noted.

Chikatara has groin pains as Usman struggles to shake off a nagging knee injury.

Chikatara came on a second half substitute to score a hat-trick in the Super Eagles’ 4-1 victory over Niger in their opening match. The exploits earned him a start in the subsequent match against Tunisia and he rewarded the coach’s faith with a goal before the North Africans grabbed an equalizer through Ahmed Akaichi.

The good news for team Nigeria ahead of the Guinea clash is that Sunshine Stars defender, Stephen Eze who was replaced at half time against Tunisia for a groin trouble is fit again.

Eze’s lanky structure is expected to provide the aerial advantage as he battles Alseny Camara and Aboubacar Mouctar Sylla.

Nigeria needs a draw result from the game as Guinea struggles for the full points to be guaranteed a slot in the quarter finals.
