The CAF A coaching licence course that commenced on Friday, January 18 will be crowned tomorrow with a Mathew Lucha fundraising match at Kakindu Stadium – Jinja at 4pm.

The match that will see league coaches who just concluded their CAF A coaching course verse Jinja veterans is aimed at raising funds for former Nile FC and Cranes midfielder Mathew Lucha who’s currently bedridden.

Presently under his in-law’s watch, Lucha’s situation is extremely worrying . The 1980 league winner is down battling an illness and can hardly walk.

“I was to write to FUFA notifying them about Lucha’s condition but when the coaches invited us for a friendly game last Sunday, I saw it as an opportunity to let them know about his situation. We decided to organise a fundraising match and hopefully something big comes out of this. Lucha needs medical attention” said a rather worried Michael D’ogu, another former Nile player .

In the same breathe, SCVU head coach Haruna Mawa calls upon Ugandans to render a helping hand.

“We hope the match attracts many spectators . Lucha’s condition needs medical expertise which he’s currently not receiving”.

Proceeds from the game are expected to help Lucha (who’ll also be at Kakindu tomorrow) start immediate treatment .
