Jinja based Uganda Premier League club, Jinja Municipal Council (JMC) Hippos has agreed terms with Maroons’ midfielder Michael Okongo for a year-long loan deal.
According to the player’s representative, JMC had requested to have the player on a permanent basis before finally agreeing to a loan move.
He noted;
Okongo has been training with JMC for a long time and impressed the technical team of James Odoch but we agreed on a one year loan deal.
The club, which was promoted to the elite league in the 2014/15 season from the FUFA Big League has been a revelation thus far.
In a related development, JMC has secured the services of striker Ivan Lubaale whose services at the neighboring BUL F.C were deemed surplus to requirements.
The former CRO sharp forward fell off the pecking order when Alex Isabirye took over the reigns of the Bidco Uganda limited bank rolled club.
Jinja Municipal Council lost two players; stocky midfielder Herbert Kakande and left back, Aggrey Madoi in the January window to Kenya’s Kakamega Home Boyz and Vipers Sports Club.
The Jinja side shocked Kenya Premier League giants, Tusker F.C with a 1-0 victory on Saturday at Kakindu stadium.
