Ten times league champions KCCA have confirmed ten new additions to the squad as they beefed up squad ahead of the second round of the season.
Of the ten, three have been signed from clubs outside the country; the same number has been netted from SC Victoria University as well as from the junior side.
Defender Lawrence Kasadha; formerly at SC Villa has joined from KPL side Bandari FC, striker Herman Wasswa rejoins from Sofapaka whilst attacking midfielder Emma Magembe signs from Norway.
Magembe has spent a couple of years in the Scandinavian nation after he impressed on one of the trips by KJT.
Ceaser Okhuti; the club’s first new acquisition joined from Express FC while the trio of Godfrey Ssembatya, Petit Wanok and Farouk Kawooya signed from SC VU.
The club also promoted three youngsters; Ronald Kikonyongo, Julius Poloto and young custodian Hassan Matovu.
In the same vein, KCCA entered into a loan scheme with The Saints where they loaned Yasin Mugabi, Yasin Mugume, Owen Kasule, Isaac Sserunkuma and Farouq Matovu.
The club also extended the loan stay for striker Dan Nsubuga at army side Simba SC while Tanzanian import Shaban Kondo is AWOL.
The arrival of new players has brought competition for places which manager Mike Mutebi welcomes.
It’s a healthy competition and we hope it brings the best of our players. The players are happy with it which is good.
No Ibrahim Kayiwa
Express FC attacking midfield gem Ibrahim Kayiwa trained with the Lugogo club for past weeks but isn’t among the new acquisitions with Mutebi explaining.
True, he did train with us but we discovered he had issues with Express FC and so we agreed that he returns to Wankulukuku. However, we are keeping an eye on him. He is on our radar.
Most of the new signings are expected to make their debuts against Simba in Tarehesita Cup.
