KCCA skipper Denis Okot Oola has labeled the addition of centre forwards Derrick Nsibambi and Herman Wasswa crucial ahead of a tight second half of the season.
Nsibambi missed the entire first half of the season through injury while Wasswa returned to Lugogo in the January after he had crossed to Kenya’s Sofapaka.
The duo impressed on their re-union scoring three times in the 4-0 win away to Mbarara Soccer Academy in the Uganda Cup round of 64 tie with Wasswa netting a brace which prompted Okot to state.
“When you look at the first round, we struggled to score goals,” he told Kawowo Sports. “I think they are very crucial additions to the squad in terms of scoring,” he added.
Besides the two, Okot believes that as long as the new buys get the team’s targets well, there is no doubt they will lift silverware at the end of the season.
“All the new boys are getting on well. Am adamant that as long as they understand what we need this season, then everything will work out for us.”
Meanwhile, the game against Mbarara was Okot’s first since being named the team captain and his next duty comes on Sunday when KCCA visit Sadolin Paints at the round of 32.
