The second round of the Uganda Premier League beckons and SCVU travel to Jinja for a date with JMC at Kakindu Stadium on Tuesday, February 23.

Haruna Mawa will travel to the Eastern district hoping to get the best out of his newly assembled team that only started training a few days ago.

Theoretically, a SCVU side that lost close to 15 first round players and only recently recruited inexperienced lads ought to put less damage on the host who enjoyed a decent first round and the just concluded build-up games but perhaps their first round encounter will be something Mawa will bank on given the Namboole tie ended in a barren draw.

Having witnessed the departure of both his playing and coaching staff, the CAF A holder surely knows what a task awaits him.

JMC begin their second round with only two players on the sideline. Both players (Patrick Onyango and Dan Sabena) picked up their injuries in the first round.

“We are very ready” commented JMC’s head coach James Odoch “SCVU hired new players and I must admit I know nothing about them. It’s always hard to play against such teams but we are well prepared. The boys are fit and we don’t have any new injuries” he added.

Even with JMC’s loss of defender Herbert Kakande who signed for a Kenyan outfit KK Homeboyz and Madoi who joined reigning champions Vipers, SCVU have quite a mountain to climb when they visit Odoch’s charges especially knowing that a fired up Abdul Rajab is your opponent.

The tricky winger in one of their build-up games scored the lone goal that separated JMC from the Kenyans giants Tusker FC.

JMC is placed 7th on the table with 21 points while SCVU find themselves flirting with relegation.
