In a bid to ensure that there are enough balls during the duration of the games, Uganda Premier league (UPL) has introduced the official match day balls.

The balls were officially unveiled on Monday, 22nd February 2016 during a special press conference held at the Nelson Mandela National stadium board room ahead of the start of the second round.

‘The official match day balls must be present at the field of play for both clubs in action. We believe there will be no more time wasting like before due to shortage of balls’ UPL CEO, Bernard Bainamani told the media.

Previously, there were complaints from many clubs about unsporting conduct from many clubs who deliberately hid balls when the results were in their favour.

As a promise by the FUFA Super league board, the match day balls were finally provided to the 16 clubs in the league.

Each of the clubs’ representatives received five balls on the day.

The league returns Tuesday with six games across the country.
