URA FC find themselves eight points behind log leaders KCCA following a 3-1 loss on Tuesday but skipper Simeon Masaba believes the title race is far from over.
A superb second half performance from the Kasasiro saw the Tax Men concede three fine goals from Joseph Ochaya, Muzamiru Mutyaba and Paul Mucureezi against one from Robert Ssentongo.
Although he acknowledges the big gap, Masaba is confident they are still in contention. “We have put ourselves in a difficult situation with the loss but I don’t think it’s over for us,” he told Kawowo Sports. “There are 14 games to go and I am sure those in front of us will drop points at some time too,” he added.
The long serving skipper admitted the team were second best in the loss to KCCA but they are ready to work on the mistakes ahead of next fixtures.
“We lost possession carelessly at times and we were punished for that. But we’ll rectify the mistakes in the next games.”
URA FC’s next engagement is at home to third placed Police FC who also lost 2-1 to Lweza on day one of second round.
