The national cricket league witnessed five matches take center stage in Kampala (Lugogo), Kyambogo, Jinja, Buddo and Entebbe on Sunday.
Brian Masaba and Ali Raza inspired Aziz Damani with superb batting over Charity Cricket club at Buddo Oval by 4 wickets difference.
Aziz won the toss and bowled first. Charity posted 211 for 10 in 44.5 overs which Aziz Damani chased 212 for 6 in 38.5 overs.
Jonathan Sebanja 46(36) and Narinder Singh 46(55) batted for Charity. Meanwhile, Shehzad Kamal 3/38 in 6.5 overs and Sarfaraz Chunara 2/30 in 7 overs were the exceptional bowlers for Aziz.
At the Lugogo Oval in Kampala, Tornado Bee Cricket Club overcame Tornado Cricket Club by 72 runs.
Tornado Bee won the toss and batted first posting 188 for 10 in 42.2 overs, thanks to the exceptional figures from Charles Waiswa and Roger Mukasa.
Tornado managed 116 runs for 10 in 39.1 overs.
At the Kyambogo oval, Kampala Institute Cricket club won the toss and batted first, posting a massive 206 runs for 10.
The Nsubuga duo of Frank and Siraje were architects for KICC’s victory with 44(47) and 41(42) respectively.
Their opponents, Wanderers managed a dismissal 82 for 10.
At the lake side Entebbe Oval, Kutchi Tigers won the toss and batted first against Patidar.
The latter won by 10 runs after posting 219/5 in 50 overs as Patidar chased for 209/10 in 46.4 overs.
Kutchi’s outstanding batting order of Lalji Gondalia registered 42(52) – not out and Navin Pindoria managed 41(45) – not out.
Patidar bowling was Hashmukh Patel 2/34 in 10 overs and Bhavin Patel 2/35 in 10 overs.
In Jinja, Avengers Cricket Club defeated JACC by 173 runs.
The league resumes next weekend.
