Azam Uganda Premier League:
Friday, Soana F.C 3-3 Simba S.C
Next Match: Tuesday, 1st March 2016 – Simba S.C Vs S.C Villa Jogoo
After ensuring qualification to the first round of the CAF Confederation cup, Sports Club Villa will temporarily shift attention to the domestic league with a visit to Bombo army military stadium for a date against Simba Sports Club on the opening day of March 2016.
“We are now looking forward the league match on Tuesday against Simba” Frank Anyau, the team’s technical director told Kawowo Sports on Saturday.
Simba surrendered a precious opportunity to lead the game against Soana on three different counts during the last match at the Kavumba Recreational stadium on Friday.
Alex Witaba had given Simba a 35th minute penalty lead before veteran Godfrey Wakaza stretched the lead six minutes later as Simba built a comfort zone going to the half time break.
In the second half, Soana fought back to pull a goal back through David Ssali in the 69th minute as Simon Okwi scored his second goal since transferring to the Kavumba side in the 78th minute.
Two minutes later, right back Aggrey Kirya ensured they smile home with the three points but Ibrahim Ayub Kizza’s last gasp equalizer in the second minute of added time denied Morley Byekwaso and his charges a famous victory.
Against SC Villa, Simba will face a team that is on a recover path following intensive training drills in the run to the back to back CAF matches.
On Saturday, SC Villa Jogoo required to burn extra calories to complete a double against visiting Al Watani Al Khartoum F.C in a rain-laden fixture.
The Jogoos are most likely to approach the match minus goal hero, Godfrey Lwesibawa after he injured the right leg.
Head coach, Ibrahim Kirya believes the league has its own challenges and does not expect an easy ride;
“League matches are tricky encounters and i aways remind the players never to expect walk-overs, but to work hard” Kirya said of the upcoming match against Simba.
