Uganda Premier League 2015/16:

  • Bright Stars F.C Vs Bul F.C – Tuesday, 15th March 2016
  • At Champions Stadium, Matugga (4:30 p.m)

Bright Stars FC is one of the most improved teams owing to their fast improving performance especially in the second half of the league.

They have drawn and won the same number of games (seven) with just four loses to their name.

In the second round alone, they have won two and drawn one of the games.

Against BUL F.C on Tuesday evening, one side that blows hot and cold, they face a stern test of character.

Either sides have players who traveled over 900Km to and from Arua with the Uganda Cranes regional tour of West Nile and only have Monday as the recovery day.

Bright Stars has three players – team captain Bernard Muwanga, goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya and right back, Joseph Nsubuga who were with Uganda Cranes in Arua. BUL had Yunus Sibira and Milton Karisa.

The timely recovery of these players will be key to their respective sides’ significance ahead of the Matugga tie.

On the last visit last year in the Uganda Cup, BUL F.C won 1-0 in the Uganda Cup at the quarter final stage.

This time round, Bright Stars intend to inflict similar damage at a time it matters most.

“My players are physically and mentally prepared for the game” Bright Stars’ Fred Kajoba says of the match.

Whereas Bright Stars is currently 6th on the log with 28 points, BUL is 9th with 26 points.

Key Players:

BUL F.C is expected to maintain the similar team that lost in penalties to Soana in the Uganda Cup with Karisa, Farouk Wejuli, the returning goalie Franco Oringa and defender Derrick ‘Rasta’ Walulya expected to play a crucial role for Alex Isabirye coached side.

Kajoba will rely on the unquestionable leadership abilities of Bernard Muwanga, the safe gloves of Mathias Kigonya, Jimmy Kibirige Lule’s dead ball execution, Baker Lukooya’s craftiness and Lawrence Bajja’s creative force for team Bright Stars.
