Vipers S.C 2-2 SC Villa Jogoo
Vipers rallied from behind to play to a two-all draw with 10 man Sports Club Villa Jogoo in the Uganda Premier League at Buikwe Stadium.
Hard tackling midfielder, Tadeo Lwanga was shown marching orders by referee Mashood Ssali after a second bookable offence with five minutes to the end of the opening half.
Umar Kasumba had given the 16 time record league winners the lead on the quarter hour mark.
In the second half, left back Isaac Muleme, fresh from the Uganda Cranes’ camp that was preparing for the double header against Burkina Faso in the AFCON 2017 qualifiers struck directly from a free-kick to give the visitors a 2 goal cushion.
Moments later, on form Erisa Ssekisambu who was a late substitute in the Cranes’ goalless draw at home with Burkina Faso pulled a goal back.
Ibrahim Sadddam Juma then converted a late penalty, awarded ten minutes from time to force the stalemate.
Both sides playing their 19th games of the campaign, the draw is not good enough for Vipers to close the gap on leaders, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club as they add only a point to garner 35 points, three short of KCCA F.C.
For Sports Club Villa, the point earned gets them to 27 points, just one above Bul and Lweza.
SC Villa remains 10th on the 16 team log.
