What special way is there to honour a legend than all stake holders joining hands together to celebrate their life?

As the Mama Becca Women Football memorial tournament draws closer, more teams and clubs have expressed willingness to participate in the two day event.

By Wednesday evening, a total of 46 teams had already registered for the tourney that will take place at Old Kampala.

FUFA Women football development officer, Hadijah ‘Lady Mourinho’ Namuyanja confirms;

The final tournament for Mama Becca women cup shall run on the 9th and 10th April 2016 at Old Kampala S.S play ground. There are about 47 teams under the open and schools’ categories that have already confirmed to take part.

Under the schools, there will be primary and secondary schools.

The district qualifiers for the primary schools’ category were completed in April 2016 in eight districts with three teams qualifying per district.

Mama Becca (Becca Kazibwe) was a strong advocate of women football in Uganda. She was also a staunch fan of Express Football Club.

The tournament has been organized since she breathed her last on earth in memory of her good deeds as a football administrator and a passionate fan of the beautiful game.
