Bugisu Region Copa Football Qualifiers:

Friday, 6th & 7th May 2016 – Mbale Town

The Bugisu Region Copa schools football qualifiers kick off this Friday in Mbale district.

These qualifiers will have competition in the girls and boys categories. Whereas the boys will use the cricket ground, Mulukhu 1 and 2 fields the female gender will be based at Mbale Secondary School ground.

In the Boy’s category, each of the 5 districts of Bududa, Manafa, Mbale, Sironko and Bulambuli is represented by two schools; Bududa SS and Bulucheke SS from Bududa District, Magale SS and Butiru Christian Comprehensive SS from Manafwa, Mbale SS and Nkoma SS from Mbale District, Masaba SS and Namburu SS from Sironko district and St. Joseph Buyaga and Tunyi SS from Bulambuli district.

Fifteen schools managed to qualify to the regional tournament in the girls’ section; Mbale Comprehensive, Nabumali High School, Joy SS, Oxford High School, Mbale progressive SS, University Link High school, Muyembe High School, Sironko High school, St. Stephen Buhaweka, Global High School Sironko, St. Joseph Buyaga, Bubutu SS, Bubulo SS, Butiru christain Comprehensive School, High Way SS Sironko.

The best three schools in each gender will qualify for the national finals.

Groups: Boys

Group A: Masaba SS, Magale SS and Bulucheke SS

Group B: Namburu SS, Nkoma SS, St. Joseph Buyaga and Butiru Christian Comprehensive

Group C: Mbale SS, Bududa SS and Tunyi SS

Groups: Girls

Group A: Mbale Comprehensive, Muyembe High School, St. Stephen Buhaweka and Sironko High School

Group B: Mbale Progressive, Bubutu SS and University Link High School

Group C: Global High School, Bubulo SS and St. Joseph Buyaga and Joy SS

Group D: Nabumali High School, Butiru Christian High School, High Way SS and Oxford High School
