Four of The Saints’ nine wins in the 2015/16 Uganda Premier League season have come against the so called big boys, KCCA, SC Villa, Express and URA.

This is amusing for a side that has spent almost all parts of the season fighting relegation but Coach Moses Basena isn’t amused.

The Uganda Cranes assistant tactician on Tuesday saw his side beat SC Villa 2-0 at Nakivubo a couple of weeks after downing log leaders KCCA at the same venue.

However, he isn’t surprised about the results against what he calls the ‘so called big boys.’

“There is little to separate between our clubs,” he told Kawowo Sports when asked why his side has beaten up on the big boys. “Nevertheless, playing against these ‘so called big boys’ is easy since you know their style of play and plan around that unlike small clubs who you only learn their style on the pitch,” he added.

The Saints have collected 33 points this season but gotten four off URA and SC Villa and three off Express and KCCA and also comprehensively beat fourth placed Soana.

Basena who joined the club after the first round also explains their change in fortune in the second half of the season.

“I made the players believe in themselves. That was important and I guess even the Coach changed a lot of things.”

The Saints are 12th on the 16 team log with 33 points with three games to go.
