Eastern Regional play offs:

1st Semi-final: Kamuli Park 1-0 Busia United

2nd Semi-final: Kataka 1-0 Bugembe United

Either Kamuli Park and Kataka football clubs could be promoted to the 2016/17 FUFA Big league.

The two Eastern Uganda clubs are set to play in the final of the region to determine which team will make it to the second tier football division.

This follows the semi finals played on Monday at Mbale Municipal stadium.

In the opening match, Kamuli Park defeated Busia United 1-0 with the home team, Kataka winning the second match with a similar scoreline past Bugembe United.

Kataka FC’s goal was a penalty scored by Aziz Nambobi.

Bugembe FC fans and officials became rowdy after the match claiming that the penalty was awarded not true.

Police was called in swiftly to calm the situation.

The final will be played on Thursday 23rd June at Mbale Municipal Stadium.

The winner will join other successful teams form the other eight FUFA regions.

Already, Nyamityabora (Western region), Moroto (North Eastern), Kira United (Buganda), Kyambogo (Kampala) are the teams that have so far qualified to join the Big league.
