A couple of weeks ago, KCCA Coach Mike Mutebi was full of praise for goalie Yasin Mugabi and hinted that he was the only player on loan the club had recalled.

Mugabi, who spent the whole of second round of last season at The Saints on loan, has in a shocking move signed a two year deal at SC Villa.

“It’s true,” he told Kawowo Sports. “The club (KCCA) called me and said I was unwanted and that they are willing to sell me or loan me again and that’s it,” he added.

The former URA and Proline goalkeeper confirmed penning the deal at his childhood club.

“It’s exciting to be back where I call home. SC Villa is my childhood club and signing a two year deal at home is delightful.”

Mugabi, a product of SC Villa defunct junior side Jogoo Young left the Nsambya based side in 2011 for Proline and after a fantastic season, he moved to URA from where he joined KCCA a couple of seasons ago.

The experienced custodian joins defenders Ayub Kisaliita, Joseph Nsubuga and Bernard Muwanga as new signings for the record league champions.

His departure from Lugogo leaves a gap in the goalkeeping department and reports are clear Mike Mutebi’s side are targeting Police’s Douglas Kisembo.

He is the second player to officially leave the Kasasiro in the window after striker Herman Wasswa who is also rumoured to be on his way back to SC Villa or URA.
