Talks between Onduparaka Football Club defender, Rashid ‘Mertasacker’ Toha and Sports Club Villa Jogoo hit a dead end.

Toha, who still has a valid running contract with the Arua club believes he needs to first serve the contract then open up to the available offers on the table.

Speaking to Kawowo Sports from Mandela S.S in Arua where he is undertaking his O-level studies (in S.4), the towering defender put his intentions clear.

I met with SC Villa officials.

I boldly told them I will first play for Onduparaka for one year then I will welcome any sort of offers from clubs.

Christened Mertasacker for his composing height and similar playing style to the Germany legend, Per Mertasacker, the Adjumani born player has been also admired by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).

“I want to play for Onduparaka this season, complete School and then go to Kampala,” he maintains.

Recently, he was given a chance of the lifetime when he was invited to the Uganda Cranes regional team that tour the Eastern region.

He had a rare chance opportunity to mingle with already established stars on the team as Hassan Wasswa Mawanda (Al Shorta, Iraq), Yassar Mugerwa (Orlando Pirates), Dennis Iguma (Al Ahed) and Murushid Jjuuko (Simba,Tanzania) alongside a crop of players who won the CECAFA 2015 edition in Ethiopia.
