Charity Match: Saturday, 23rd July 2016

  • Nakasongola United ‘Uganda Comoros’ Vs Uganda Cranes (3 p.m) – St Lawrence S.S Play ground, Migyeera (Nakasongola)

In line with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations’ cause for Social Corporate Responsibility (SCR), there is a planned match next Saturday between a select Uganda Cranes side and Nakasongola United, dubbed the ‘Uganda-Comoros’.

The match will take place at St Lawrence S.S play ground in Migyeera, Nakasongola district on Saturdaym 23rd July 2016.

FUFA publicist, Ahmed Hussein clarifies on the motives of the match;

We want to achieve three objectives.

One is that Social Corporate Responsibility Cause and the one is to further prepare our national team ahead of the Comoros game.

Also, it is another countrywide tour to take the national team closer to the local communities

The match is being promoted by Radio Simba, who sealed a partnership with FUFA.

According to the programme coordinator, Ivan Kyeyune, this is the best that FUFA has given to the football mad community of Nakasongola.

We have started to prepare the Nakasongola United team which we have called the Uganda-Comoros’.

Proceeds from this match will help to upgrade the Nakasongola Health Center IV.

We are happy to FUFA to having permitted this cause. This is a dream come true for the Nakasongola district

Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic who is on holiday will return this coming week and summon the available players for the trip.

Local clubs training:

Micho will use the optimum advantage that a host of local clubs have resumed training ahead of the 2016/17 season.

KCCA, URA, Lweza, SC Villa, BUL, Jinja S.S, Onduparaka and big league side, Masavu are the clubs that started their training sessions already.

Available professionals:

Similarly, several professionals yet to return for their respective club business could be summoned as a back up mechanism.

St George duo of Isaac Isinde and Robert Odongkara are in the country following a successful season in Ethiopia.

Qatar based utility player, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda who plays at Al Shorta football club is also still available as he plans to leave the country in the next three weeks.

FUFA continues to plan day and night for the up-coming AFCON 2017 group D slated for 3rd September 2016 at Nelson Mandela National Stadium.

Last week, the national team main sponsors, Airtel Uganda Limited launched a fans’ promotion exercise dubbed ‘Uganda Cranes – Recharged’.

Here, fans stand a chance to win match day tickets, U.shs 1M per day and a car every week once they load airtime or data.
